> Assignment
The first assignment for this course was to create a blog that would profile the sequence of work in process, development phases and completed work. All work will be documented here on a weekly basis.

A photo of myself,
A computer,
The internet
> Composition
I chose this photo because it is one of the most recent photos I have taken. This was the end result of experimenting with
the 10-second timer function on the camera and I appreciated the off-kilter and blurry aesthetic.
I chose this template because I like the simplicity of the layout and the fact that there is so much organized white space so
the viewer can easily focus on the content.

Who are you? I am a junior year art student at Saint Xavier focusing primarily on graphic design. My interests beyond design include
dabbling in various handmade crafts and searching the internet for new inspiration.
What makes you the happiest? Having money to spend on craft supplies. Working on a craft project. Finishing a craft project. Looking at beautiful
layouts utilizing type and design. Admiring old letterpress letters. A nice spring day. Bright vibrant colors.
Where did you come from? I came to Saint Xavier from a 2-year community college, and before that another college studying ceramics. Before
that, I was living in the middle of the woods out east for a year. Before that I was in high school taking art classes.
Where were you last tested? The traditional response: last December I was tested for finals at Saint Xavier.
The non-traditional response: all of 2008 on a roller coaster of events that tested my financial, academic and emotional
resolve.
Why do you keep doing this? I keep practicing design and art in the hopes that one day I will become a great designer with a style people will want
to utilize. I'm not there yet, but I am hopeful that one day someone will look up to my design just like I've spent many a
time looking up to other designers I admire.
How do you feel? I feel optimistic. I feel hopeful. I feel like this year will be a good year for personal and academic growth to further
myself as an artist.
